GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 2020-21 season for Florida Atlantic University men's tennis opened up on Saturday, with the Owls traveling to take on the No. 9 Florida Gators. UF took the matchup, 7-0.

Notables:
- The Gators won on doubles courts 1 and 3 to take the first point of the day
- On No. 3, after the clinch, the match was still completed. It went out to a tiebreak, with the combo of Gerard Escandell and Finn Stodder topped by the smallest of margins, 7-6
- UF won in straight sets on No. 5, No. 3 and No. 4 to clinch the day
- At No. 6, Stodder won the second to force a third set, which went to a 10-point tiebreaker. The final was 1-6, 7-5, 0-1 (6-10)
- On the first court, Maxime Lapraille battled the No. 12 singles player nationally, going to a set tiebreaker (6-7, 3-6)
- Similarly, Filip Krolo on court No. 2 was edged out by the eight-ranked player in the country and also seeing the first going to a tiebreak (5-7, 0-6)
