Track & Field Wrap Up Final Regular Season Tuneup at South Carolina Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team completed the its second day at the South Carolina Invitational. Saturday marked the Owls' final tune-up of the season before the 2020 Indoor Conference USA Championships.

Quick Hits

Mikaela Jonsson finished seventh in the 800m run with a personal record of 2:11.70. Her time is currently ranked No. 1 in C-USA
Brooke Butterfield tallied 18th in the 800m with a personal record of 2:16.86. Megan Giovaniello, who is coming back from injury, finished in 34th (2:21.70)
Also in the 800m, Hannah Herbst (2:31.36) and Kailiece Harris (2:37.25) tallied personal records
The 4X400 relay team finished in 3:48.95 to take eighth place. Jessica Lambert, Lyric Schmalz, Roshelle Francois and Anne-Catherine Wasser raced for FAU
Naiya Pettway picked up a personal record in the 200m (27.06)

"Our final tune-up for the indoor Conference USA Championships produced personal records, good results, learning moments and everything in between," said head coach Alex Smolka. "We have grown as a team and our student-athletes have gained invaluable experiences! We have a great group of people on the squad and we are excited for what is around the corner!"
