Owls Complete Round Two at Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team used consistent play to hold its spot, at No. 11, in the 2020 Desert Intercollegiate Tournament. The three-day tournament is being played at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California and is being hosted by Wyoming.

FAU is at 9-over par for the tournament on the par-72 course. The Owls hold a seven-stroke lead over Wyoming and are the Owls' team score of 585 is just four strokes out of eighth place.

Auburn entered the clubhouse holding the top spot shooting a two-day team total of 563 and are 13-under. The Tigers are three shots ahead of Charlotte.

Freshman Enrique Dimayuga stood out Saturday, shooting a 1-under-par 71 to bring his two-round total to 145. He is tied for 30th individually. Alex Maguire isn't far behind; his 3-over-par 147 ties for 43rd. Senior Sully Zagerman improved by four strokes on Saturday, shooting a 1-over-par 73 after recording a 5-over-par 77 Friday. His two-day total pushed him to 62nd place in the process – a 25-spot jump.

The Owls will play the final round of the Desert Intercollegiate beginning at 7 a.m. Eastern on Sunday.
