BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 2020-21 Florida Atlantic University women's golf team has instilled three player-voted team values: responsibility, sportsmanship and discipline. Coach Aimee Neff's squad hopes to embody those values throughout the season.
This series will document the reasons why FAU's golfers chose the values they did, in their own words.
Blanka Decker, a promising freshman from Germany, shares her thoughts this week:Â
"Hi, I'm Blanka from the FAU women's golf team. We as a team came up with our three main values for this season: discipline, sportsmanship and responsibility. Those values mean a lot to me because it means we can improve on the golf course as a golfer every day, but also off the golf course as a human being. Discipline means for me to work hard and give your best every single day, on and off the course. Sportsmanship is very important for me because it means that you get along with your team, the coaches, all this stuff. But It's also very important to get along with your opponents on competitions. Responsibility, for me, means that you act responsible in situations with your team but also keep up your own work as you are responsible for doing your own job and school work so that your team can improve every day and that you give your best for the team every day. Go Owls!"
