BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams will wrap up the fall slate this Saturday morning at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships. The race will be ran at Veterans Park in Hoover, Alabama, the same course the Owls raced on two weeks ago at the Blazer Classic.

FAU's women's team will kick off the championships by running the 6K at 10 a.m. EDT followed by the men hitting the course for the 8K at 11 a.m. EDT. More information on the championships can be foundÂ

Women
- Madlen Kappeler was the top Owl finisher in the 6K with a sixth place showing. The redshirt sophomore crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 21:11.38, which is also the second best 6K time in program history
- Marisha Thompson came in 42nd place after finishing in 22:51.69 in her first race as an Owl
- Freshman Analise Davis (23:20.88) was the third Owl finisher in 54th, followed by Paige Saiz (23:27.56), who took 57th in her first FAU race
- The team finished in 10th place with a score of 211

Men
- Preston Dunn was the leading Owl finisher with a 32nd place showing in the 8K (27:07.17)
- Seniors Cristian Moreno (27:0916) and Sean Barone (27:10.58) followed, finishing in 33rd and 34th, respectively
- The team finished in sixth place with 143 points

Women
- The 2019 C-USA Championships were held at Kerelakes Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. FAU's women's team made history by finishing eighth overall, their best finish since joining C-USA
- Kappeler finished the 5K in 17:50.9 for 16th place and the third fastest time in FAU history. The Vorderhindeland, Germany product was also earned a nod on the C-USA All-Conference Third Team
- Megan Giovaniello followed with 57th place and a time of 19:06.6

Men
- The men's team finished in 10th place overall
- Dunn finished the 8K in 49th (26:20.1) with his time marking the 10th fastest on the FAU charts
- Sean Barone took 68th place (27:11.12)
