Poate Finishes Third at Sandestin Amateur

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University golfer Patrick Poate tied for third at this week's Sandestin Amateur with a three-round 207. The tournament took place Oct. 18-20 at the Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.
Over the first two rounds, Poate tied for second by posting consecutive 69's. He added another 69 in round three but fell one stroke behind the second-place finisher. Â
Poate is entering his senior season at FAU. His career marks of 19 par-or-better rounds and a 74.33 stroke average rank ninth and sixth, respectively, in FAU history.
FAU men's golf and Poate will not compete in collegiate tournament play this fall but hope to return this spring.
