Men's Basketball Ready for Hilltoppers, Thundering Herd

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team returns home to host a pair of Conference USA opponents, WKU on Thursday and Marshall on Saturday.

Last Week: The Owls (12-8, 4-4 C-USA) lost both games on last week's road trip, falling to Charlotte 70-68 on Thursday night and 65-55 to Old Dominion on Saturday night. Junior forward Jailyn Ingram averaged 15 points and six rebounds in the two contests.

About WKU: The Hilltoppers (14-6, 7-1 C-USA) come into Thursday's matchup in sole possession of second place in the league. WKU has won five games in a row, including a pair of wins over Marshall last week. Junior guard Taveion Hollingsworth leads the team in scoring at 15.3 per game. Junior forward Carson Williams (13.4), redshirt senior Jared Savage (11.2) and graduate guard Camron Justice (10.7) all average double figures in points.

About Marshall: The Thundering Herd (9-12, 3-5 C-USA) have lost five of six, the last two defeats coming at the hands of WKU. Sophomore guard Taevion Kinsey paces Marshall at 15.5 points per game, while junior Jarrod West is second on the team, averaging 14.4 points per outing.

History: WKU lead the all-time series with FAU 15-6. The Hilltoppers won last season's tilt 72-66 in Bowling Green. Â Â

FAU trails Marshall 7-2. The Herd took a 96-84 decision last year despite a career-high 32 points from Michael Forrest, and Aleksandar Zecevic's first career double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds).
