BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's soccer, sitting at 4-2-0 on the young season, hits the midway point of a five-game homestand when the team hosts 5-0-0 Ball State on Friday night. Since the opener against Florida, every single Owls' opponent has been undefeated. FAU has handed four teams their first loss of 2019, winning four of five matches against opposition that, beforehand, had a combined mark of 12-0-1.
Owls' Week in Review
Two of those victories came last weekend against Dartmouth (previously with a record of 2-0, defeating them 1-0) and North Florida (4-0-1, a 2-1 victory). In the former,
Pernille Velta's third goal put her into a tie for the team lead with
Miracle Porter and
Sammy Vitols. That was only a momentary dead heat, as on Sunday,
Mary O'Hara came up with both goals to leapfrog the trio with four on the season. Additionally, with the two wins,
Cassidy Wasdin earned the team's first Conference USA accolade of the season, as Goalkeeper of the Week.
