Men’s Basketball Releases 2019-20 Schedule

Full 2019-20 FAU Men's Basketball Schedule
BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University athletic department has released the men's basketball team's 2019-20 schedule. Head coach Dusty May and his squad will play at least 21 of their 31 regular season games in the state of Florida, including 17 home games.
"We are thrilled to have 17 home games this season, which is something we know means a great deal to our fans, student body and alumni," said May.
The home slate is highlighted by the Owls hosting the inaugural Boca Raton Beach Classic, sponsored by Life Changes Sport.
"There is great excitement surrounding the inaugural Boca Raton Beach Classic, which will bring seven highly respected programs to South Florida," stated May.
FAU opens the regular season when Flagler comes to Boca Raton on Tuesday, Nov. 5, then will head to Miami on Friday, Nov. 8 before traveling to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide on Monday, Nov. 11. The Owls will host Palm Beach Atlantic on Nov. 16, before traveling across the state to take on Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 20.
After taking some time off, FAU will kick off a six-game homestand against Holy Cross on Friday, Nov. 29 as part of the inaugural Boca Raton Beach Classic. The elimination portion of the tournament will take place Dec. 1 and 2 before wrapping up with a home game against Canisius on Dec. 4. Contests against High Point (Saturday, Dec. 14), led by national championship-winning head coach Tubby Smith and Tampa (Thursday, Dec. 19) conclude the home stand.
Road games at Mercer (Dec. 22) and USF (Dec. 29) on back-to-back Sundays close out the nonconference portion of the schedule.
"We are extremely excited about the non-conference schedule that we have put together," May noted. "Our team will be challenged by storied programs early in the season. We are confident that the non-conference schedule will prepare us for a competitive C-USA season."
The Owls open Conference USA play on Thursday, Jan. 2 with home games against UTSA and UTEP two days later.
FAU will face rival FIU in a home-and-home, playing in Western Dade County on Wednesday, Feb. 5 with an immediate rematch on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Road games at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 13) and Southern Miss (Feb. 16) will round out the predetermined portion of the conference schedule. The final four games of the C-USA slate (Bonus Play) will be based upon seeding after the first 14 games. Dates have been announced, with opponents and location to be determined.
The 2020 C-USA Basketball Tournament will take place in Frisco, Texas, from Wednesday, March 11 through Saturday, March 14.
