BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior forward Miracle Porter tallied a hat trick to help the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team to a 7-1 win over Grand Canyon on Sunday. The Owls are now 1-1-0 on the season.
How It Happened Mary O'Hara scored on a rocket from the top of the box late in the 21st minute for what proved to be the only tally of the first half. Early in the second half, Sammy Vitols notched a pair of goals, the first off a cross from Carolynn Wotring (her second assist of the match), sandwiched around a marker from Pernille Velta, to put the Owls up 4-0. The Lopes (1-1-0) notched their only goal less than two minutes after Vitols' second conversion to pull within 4-1. Porter scored all three of her goals in less than 10 minutes to account for the final score.

Porter's goals gave her seven for her FAU career and she became the first Owl to record a hat trick since Claire Emslie scored three times against UAPB on September 15, 2013
