Vehka-aho Named MVP of U20 European Championship

PRISHTINA, Kosovo – Incoming Florida Atlantic University women's basketball players, Lotta Vehka-aho, Nikola Ozola and Janeta Rozentale, wrapped up play in the U20 Women's European Championship this weekend with Vehka-aho earning Most Valuable Player honors for the tournament.
Vehka-aho led Finland to the finals of the Division B tournament, averaging 18.5 points per game and 3.5 assists. The incoming freshman dropped 30 points during the group phase against Greece, shooting 7-of-10 from 3-point land.
"Lotta is a hard working kid whose only speed is all out," said head coach Jim Jabir. "We are lucky to have her in our program."
Ozola and Rozentale led Latvia to 10th place finish in the tournament. Ozola averaged 7.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists through seven games. Rozentale put up six points a game and averaged 7.6 rebounds.
