FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team finished 10th at the Conference USA Championship on Wednesday. The Owls carded a three-round score of 906, their best in the C-USA Championship since joining the league in 2013. Their 10th place finish is tied for the best showing by a FAU squad in the Championship as well.
"Having three freshmen and two juniors competing for us again this week is encouraging for the future of our program. It was encouraging to see
Amanda Leslie and
Rosa Barnak shoot 72 and 71 respectively. I am pleased that we shaved over 30 strokes off our performance from last year at conference. We improved over the course of the year and will continue to work diligently to be prepared for the fall season. Go Owls!"

GOLF FORE AFRICA
All this season the Owls will be teaming up with Golf Fore Africa to raise money for clean water in rural Africa. The team's goal is to raise enough money to build a well for a village in Zambia, providing clean water for an entire community.
One well costs $15,000 to build and brings clean water to 300 people for life. Just a $50 donation brings clean water to one person for a lifetime. To date, Golf Fore Africa has built 160 wells and FAU is looking to be the first collegiate program to raise complete funding for a well.
