#17 Beach Volleyball Heads to CCSA Tournament

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The 17th-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team will head to the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) tournament as the No. 6 seed. The tournament will be held at Lakepoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Georgia, starting on Friday, April 19.

The pool play round of the tournament splits the 12 CCSA teams into four groups with the top team in each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals. The second and third team from each group will play a team from a different group with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals. The Owls are in Group 3 along with # 3 FIU and #10 UAB. The other three groups are as follows:
Group 1: #1 Florida State, #8 College of Charleston, #12 Southern Mississippi
Group 2: #2 LSU, #7 TCU, #11 UNCW
Group 4: #4 South Carolina, #5 Georgia State, #9 Tulane

FAU will face UAB at 1:30 p.m. and FIU at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Elimination play begins on Saturday morning with the quarterfinals starting 1:30 p.m. The semifinals will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, with the championship match starting at noon. All of Sunday's matches will be streamed on Facebook.
