BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the third time this year, Florida Atlantic University men's tennis player
Jason Legall has been honored as Conference USA Male Athlete of the Week. He earned the final award of the regular season on Wednesday.
This past weekend, the sophomore native of Palm Coast, Florida, Legall toppled two nationally-ranked opponents, both in straight sets, in the C-USA pod held in Charlotte. Both singles victories led to Owl wins.
On Friday, he earned the third point in a 4-1 win over Old Dominion, overcoming No. 99 Aziz Kijametovic, 6-3, 7-5. The following day, versus homestanding Charlotte, he quickly gave the team the lead by topping No. 118 Luca Keist, 6-0, 6-2, and the Owls would go on to a thrilling 4-3 win. Those two victories gives Legall 11 wins in the No. 1 spot for the 17-9 Owls, heading into the C-USA Championship, April 19-21.
Legall previously was awarded this on January 30 and March 13. All told, the Owl men have been honored five times, with
