#16 Beach Volleyball Hosts FAU Beach Bash

           BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team hosts its third tournament of the season, Saturday's FAU Beach Bash. Tampa, FIU and North Alabama will make up the rest of the field.
FAU plays North Alabama at noon and Tampa at 2 p.m. The team will also be doing a takeover of the NCAA Volleyball Instagram account for the day.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- The Sandy Owls have struggled recently, suffering losses in five of their last six matches.
- FAU's no. 4 tandem of Savannah Pesante has a team-best 10-3 record.
- Nicole Grant/Amanda Silva and Jillenne Cangelosi/Megan McGrath are both 9-4.
- Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris recently became the school's all-time winningest duo.
LAST TIME OUT
- FAU played at the Stetson Invitational on Tuesday.
- The Owls lost to no. 10 Stetson in 4-1 and 3-2 in separate matches.
- FAU swept Southeastern 5-0 at the event.
- Silva/Grant, Pesante/Dorish and Cangelosi/McGrath all went 2-1 on the day.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Owls will be playing both North Alabama and Tampa for the first time in program history.
- Although FAU and FIU will not be playing this weekend, the Panthers are a part of the tournament field and are undefeated in 10 meetings with the Owls.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- North Alabama will be playing for just the second time since opening weekend.
- In their only match since then, the Lions defeated Huntingdon 4-1 on March 14.
- After going 1-5 to start the season, Tampa is on a six-match winning streak, including wins over Webber International, North Florida and Florida Gulf Coast.
- FIU is ranked eighth in the latest AVCA poll.
UP NEXT
- FAU will head down south for the FIU Surf N' Turf Invitational on March 29 and 30.
