DELAND, Fla. - The 16
th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team lost twice to no. 10 Stetson on Tuesday, but swept Southeastern. The Sandy Owls are now 7-6 on the year.

Match 1 vs. No. 10 Stetson
Savannah Pesante and
Kaila Dorish lost in straight sets at no. 4. On court five, Jillienne Cangelosi and
Megan McGrath won the second set 21-17 to force a third, but came up just short, falling 15-11. The Hatters swept court one to clinch the match.
Erica Brok and
Mackenzie Morris dropped a pair of nailbiters on court two, 21-19, 21-18.
Amanda Silva and
Nicole Grant almost won in straight sets at no. 5, but were able to hold on to win set three 15-13.
Sam Gott and
Mazarine Tsuji won the first set on the exhibition court, but were unable to stave off a Stetson rally, losing 15-11 in the third.

McGrath and Cangelosi steamrolled their way to a 21-11, 21-4 victory on court five. Dorish and Pesante swept by matching 21-11 scores at no. 4. Brok and Morris clinched the match with a 21-11, 21-8 victory on court two. On court three, Silva and Grant won 21-8, 21-9 to put the Owls up 4-0. Scarbrough and Navarro took a 21-9, 22-20 decision on at no. 1 to complete the sweep

Dorish and Pesante got back to their familiar position of being the first team to score, winning 21-9, 21-17 on court four. McGrath and Cangelosi were extended to a third set at no. 5, taking the frame 15-9 to put the Owls up 2-0. On court three, Silva and Grant fell in straight sets, followed by Morris and Brok suffering a pair of narrow defeats on court two, 21-19, 21-18. That brought the entire match down to the no. 1 teams. Scarbrough and Navarro overcame a stumble in the first set to win the second 21-19. However, their comeback attempt came up empty in the third, 15-9. Gott and Tsuji won on the exhibition court 21-13, 21-13.
