BOCA RATON, Fla.  – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team is in Frisco, Texas, for this week's Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship. FAU is the tournament's No. 9 seed and will face ninth-seeded Louisiana Tech in the first round at 7 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, March 13. If the Owls win, they will move on to face regular season champion Old Dominion on Thursday.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU is looking for its first win in a proper (non play-in) conference tournament game since 2008.
- The win would be the first non play-in game, neutral site conference tournament win since the 2002 Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship game that sent the Owls to their only NCAA Tournament appearance.

- The Owls (17-14) lost their final regular season game at Marshall 76-61 on Saturday.
- Michael Forrest scored a team-high 15 points.

- Wednesday's game will be the eighth time the Owls and Bulldogs have faced off.
- Louisiana Tech leads the all-time 5-2, but the two teams split a pair of meetings during the regular season.
- FAU won the first meeting this year, 69-61 in Boca Raton on Jan. 31.
- La Tech evened the score with a 72-69 win in the rematch on March 6.
- Wednesday night's encounter will be the first time the two squads have played in the postseason.

- LA Tech (19-12) is a team that has been almost unbeatable at home, going 15-1 at home, but holds just a 4-11 record away from Ruston.
- Junior guard Daquan Bracey is the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 15.6 per game. Bracey averaged 17.5 points in the two meetings with the Owls this season.
- Anthony Duruji is leads the team in rebounding (6.3) and second in scoring (12.3).
