BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (4-19, 1-9 C-USA) will host UTSA (6-16, 1-9 C-USA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Burrow for the Owls' annual Play4Kay game.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU will be looking to bounce back after falling to UTEP on Thursday night
- Both FAU and UTSA will be looking to move up in the standings with three teams locked in a tie with one win in conference play this season
- Through 23 games, Juliette Gauthier is leading the Owls in scoring with 10.3 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.5 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.2 boards per game. Danneal Ford has 43 assists on the season to lead the team
PLAY4KAY
- Play4Kay is the largest fundraising initiative under the Kay Yow Cancer Fund
- Since its inception in 2007, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has awarded $7.53 million to support scientific research and projects that serve the underserved in all cancers affecting women
LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls hosted UTEP on Thursday night in the Burrow
- FAU struggled offensively in the first half, scoring only 14 points. The Owls were able to pick up the pace in the second half, but were unable to overcome the deficit
- Gauthier led the Owls with 14 points for her 12th double-digit scoring game of the season. The freshman also had five rebounds and an assist
- Johnson Matthews joined Gauthier in double digits with 12 points
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will be the ninth meeting between FAU and UTSA all-time
- The Roadrunners own a 5-3 advantage in the series
- The two teams faced each other twice last season. In the fi rst meeting, the Owls dominated in a 99-65 win. FAU had three 20-point scorers in that game with Sasha Cedeno, Danneal Ford and Ra'Kyra Gabriel. In March, the two squads faced each other in the first round of the Conference USA tournament and the Roadrunners got the best of the shorthanded Owls, 83-71
SCOUTING UTSA
- The Roadrunners come into Saturday's game on a seven-game losing streak. Most recently UTSA fell at FIU, giving the Panthers their first conference win of the season
- UTSA is led in scoring by Marie Benson who is averaging 16.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per contest, which leads C-USA. Benson is also the league's leading shot blocker, stopping an average of 1.4 shots per game
- Tija Hawkins is the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 12.6 points per game
