BOCA RATON, Fla. – Friday morning began for several members of the Florida Atlantic University football team with a tour of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center and ended with a practice at the Dwyer High School, the high school where three played their prep career.
Ten Owls attended the Center where they received a sea turtle history lesson, were told of the many dangers to the creatures and received a tour of the rehab and turtle hospital, followed by assisting with beach cleanup.
The remainder of the Owls did their traditional Thursday walk-through. Thursday's Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl's walk-through was held in Jupiter at Dwyer High School, where senior receiver Dalton Cousart, redshirt freshman defensive lineman Dalton Hustad and freshman tight end Ryan Cameron are alumni.

Thursday's Practice
Interim head coach Glenn Spencer on Thursday's practice:
"The energy is great…we have had all these extra practices. They are kind of getting tired of practices. Everybody is anticipating game day and playing against those guys as opposed to just practicing against our looks all the time."
On SMU and what he sees in them:
"Obviously, the explosiveness of the offense. The quarterback is a big time player. Skilled running backs. There are some NFL guys all over their roster, especially on offense. Sound defense. It is just going to be a complete game. There is a reason why they were ranked as high as they were during the season … (it'll be a) big test for us."
