BOCA RATON, Fla. -  The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team makes its first Conference USA trip of the season, when they travel to Lousiana Tech and FIU. Friday night's matchup with the Lady Techsters will be played at 8 p.m. Eastern. The Owls finish out the weekend against the Panthers on Sunday in a 1 p.m. start
Â
Last Week: FAU (7-5, 1-0 C-USA) began conference play with a four-set win over FIU last Friday, stretching the nation's second longest home-winning streak to 21 in a row.
Sigourney Kame had a match-high 16 kills in the victory and fellow senior
Zuri Smith had nine total blocks, earning C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honors.Â
Additionally, Kame was named one of just 30 candidates nationwide for the Senior CLASS Award earlier this week.
Â
History:Â The Owls lost their first ever meeting to Louisiana Tech all the way back in 1994, but have won all six matchups since joining Conference USA, holding a 6-1 lead. However, the Lady Techsters (11-4, 1-0) are off to their best start in years under first year head coach Amber McCray.Â
FIU (7-6, 0-2) will enter Sunday's matchup on a three match losing streak, including the defeat at the hands of FAU, which tied the all-time series between the two schools at 31 wins each.
