BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will travel to head to Bridgeport, West Virginia, where they will participate in West Virginia's The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational played at the Pat Dye Club.
The Owls are coming off their second tournament of the year, where they finished tied for ninth among a competitive field. FAU will be represented by senior
Sully Zagerman, junior
Patrick Poate as well as freshmen
Alex Maguire,
Enrique Dimayuga and
Maximilien Sturdza. The two-day event is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
The Owls opened the season at the Golfweek Program Championship and finished in third overall. In the Owls' second week of play, FAU finished ninth in a strong field of 16 at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Poate led the Owls as the top finisher, tying for 16th in New Mexico. He shot a three-round total of 217 (73, 71, 72) on the par-72 course.
FAU will competing against host West Virginia, Akron, Connecticut, Davidson, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, George Washington, James Madison, Marshall, Rice, Southern Miss, Towson, Washington, Xavier, and Youngstown
