Legall Moves on to Quarters at ITA Regionals

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The ITA DI Southeast Men's Regional Championships continues at the University of Florida, and with two wins Saturday, Jason Legall of the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team is among the final eight players remaining in the main singles draw.

Notables:

The Owls picked up two singles victories, and both over seeded players, in the Round of 32
Legall went over the No. 6 seed from Mercer, 6-4, 7-5
Maxime Lapraille took a straight-set win as well, topping the No. 9 seed from Georgia, 6-3, 6-2
Alvaro Fernandez Horta came up just short against a Georgia State opponent, 7-6(6), 6-3
In the next round, Lapraille took the No. 8 seed from Florida to three sets, but lost 0-6, 6-4, 6-1
Legall then moved on by defeating a foe from Florida State, 6-4, 6-3
He'll play in the quarterfinal round Sunday against the No. 1 seed, Gabriel Decamps of UCF
The final result of the day was Legall and Yovan Lambros, coming up just short against a duo from Georgia Tech in a tiebreaker, 8-7(5)
