Â
BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team returns to Abessinio Court at FAU Arena for a three-match homestand, including two matches this weekend. (RV) WKU comes to town on Friday before Charlotte stops in on Sunday. The contests are slated for 7 p.m. and noon starts, respectively, and FAU's 21-match home winning streak, on the line, remains the second longest in the nation.
Â
Last Week: The Owls (8-6, 2-1 C-USA) swept Louisiana Tech on Friday to start conference play 2-0 for the first time since 2009. However, FAU fell to rival FIU in five sets on Sunday. Senior Sigourney Kame moved up to third place on the Owls' career kills list in the latter, with 1,112 in her time at FAU.
Â
History: FAU is winless in 23 all-time meetings with WKU (17-1, 3-0), but the last time the Lady Toppers visited Boca Raton, they were forced to five sets before just edging out the Owls. Kame had 20 kills on that night.
Â
After dropping the first two matches in the all-time series, FAU is currently on a 12-match winning streak against Charlotte (11-8, 1-2), although the 49ers have extended the Owls to five sets the last two times the teams have met.
Â
Coverage: Live stats and video of both matches will be available at FAUSports.com. In-game updates for the FAU matches will be available at Twitter.com/FAUVolleyball. Admission is free for all remaining home matches.
Â
Upcoming: The Owls close out their homestand on Sunday, Oct. 20 against UTSA. Match time is set for noon.
