The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team won the first set, but couldn't maintain momentum, ultimately losing in four sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-10) to rival FIU on Friday night. The loss snapped the Owls' 10-match winning streak. They are now 10-4 on the season and 1-1 in Conference USA. Â

The first set was close the entire way. FAU managed a three-point lead twice, but both times the Panthers answered to tie the score. The 16
th tie of the frame came at 23-23 before an
Abbi Reid kill and a
Sydney Riggs solo block gave the Owls the win. FIU led 17-11 in set number two before FAU fought back to within a point at 22-21. However, the rally proved futile as the Panthers took the stanza to even the match. In both the third and fourth sets, FIU stormed out to sizable early leads and was able to keep control, completing the comeback with a 25-10 fourth set victory.
