Owls' Week in Review
The Owls (5-6-0, 2-0-0 C-USA) stretched their winning streak to three matches with a 3-0 win against Oral Roberts and a 1-0 league victory over UAB. FAU is one of just two C-USA squads that are undefeated and untied, alongside Charlotte, and have six points to sit in a four-way tie atop the league standings (with also Louisiana Tech and Marshall).

Owls' Week in Preview
LA Tech (9-3-0, 2-1-0 C-USA), as just mentioned, is currently tied for the conference lead. Their nine wins on the season is the league's most at this point, and that includes taking victories in each conference match last weekend: 3-2 in overtime against Old Dominion, and 2-1 over WKU. The Lady Techsters have a potent one-two offensive punch in Kaylee Zettler (six goals, one assist) and Mylene Roy-Ouellet (five goals, six assists), while goalkeeper Carlotta Cartelli has given up just three goals in over 600 minutes to rank second in C-USA in goals against average (.447).
Â
Southern Miss (7-2-0, 1-1-0 C-USA) took their league opener, 1-0 in overtime versus Western Kentucky, but dropped a 3-0 decision last time out to North Texas to end a seven-match win streak. Still, they hold the conference's top overall winning percentage at .778. The Golden Eagles' leader in goals (seven), assists (four) and points (18) is Miah Zuazua, who ranks second in C-USA in points and in goals scored.

Opponent History
The Owls hold a twin 2-1 all-time advantage over both of this weekend's opponents. LA Tech took a win the first time the two teams met, in 2014, but then FAU posted back-to-back victories by a combined 5-0 score, with a 3-0 win the last time out, in the 2016 Conference USA Championship quarterfinal round. USM's win came in the middle matchup of the three, but FAU avenged that with a 4-1 victory last season, in Boca Raton on Oct. 5.
Pernille Velta scored the first two goals of the match, both assisted by
Elisha Holmes, and two second half goals clinched the win.
