BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-5-0, 1-1-0 C-USA) fell to Stetson (4-4-1), 2-1, on Saturday night at FAU Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT WAS DECIDED

On par with South Florida weather, the start time of the match was pushed back after a small storm cell worked its way into Boca Raton. Both teams were sent to their respective locker rooms and waited out the storm.
Stetson struck first with a goal in the 23rd minute. The Hatters took a two-goal lead five minutes later.
The Owls cut into that lead with a goal just before halftime. FAU was awarded a free kick and Ferdinand Solberg booted the ball into a crowd in front of the goal. Owen Tworkowski got possession of it and found Alberto Escobedo for the score.
The second half was fruitless for both teams.

GAME NOTES

It was Alberto Escobedo's first goal this season. He scored in two of the Owls' exhibition games.
It was also the first assist this season for Owen Tworkowski.
Alonso Coello Camarero led the Owls with four shots on the night with one on frame.
The Owls had 10 shots compared to Stetson's 12, but FAU took six corner kicks to the Hatters' two.
Hagay Jalon had five saves on the night, playing all 90 minutes for FAU.

UP NEXT FOR THE OWLS
FAU will go on the road for the next two matches. The Owls travel to Statesboro, Georgia to face Georgia Southern on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Then next Saturday, FAU will resume Conference USA play at Old Dominion.
