Alex Miller Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. - For the second season in a row, Florida Atlantic University senior catcher Alex Miller was named to the Conference USA InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team. The announcement was made as part of the Conference USA tournament which began Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C. FAU holds the No. 1 seed of the tourney.
Miller has started behind the plate for 49 of the Owls' 52 games this season. She was named to the C-USA Preseason All-Conference Team and is currently hitting .268. Miller has tallied 11 multiple-hit games. Her .991 fielding percentage is tied for fourth all-time in school history.
Miller was named the 2017-18 FAU Female Student Athlete of the Year at the 2018 Owlspys and was recognized at the FAU Honors Convocation, the annual ceremony which honors the University's most outstanding students and faculty members. She holds a 3.84 GPA and is a nursing major in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing.
Winners of the regular season title, the Owls are the No.1 seed for the Conference USA Tournament and will play their first game at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 10th against either Marshall, WKU or Louisiana Tech.
