Softball Splits Doubleheader with China

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team split its doubleheader with the Chinese National Team, winning game one 1-0, but falling 2-0 in the nightcap.
Game 1
Key Plays
After China left two runners on in the top of the fifth, Jolie Duffner drove in the only run of the game in the bottom half of the frame, when her base hit to left drove in Lauren Whitt. Kelsey Morrison retired the final six China batters to preserve the victory.
Notables
- Tatum Buckley threw four shutout innings before giving way to Morrison, who struck out four and gave up just one hit in three innings of work to get the win.
- Lauren Whitt singled and scored the game's only run.
- Alex Miller and Amanda Peck also had base hits for FAU.
Game 2
Key Plays
Two hits and a FAU error allowed China to score two runs in the top of the sixth inning. That was all the offense needed, as Wang Lan threw a perfect game for China.
Notables
- Freshman Sloan Hammons got the start in the circle and gave up just one hit in three innings of work.
- Mia Olson threw two innings of one-hit ball in relief.
