BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Freshman Natalia Boltinskaya clinched the winning point as the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team beat the College of Charleston 4-1 Thursday.
- The Owls took the doubles point as the duos of Marisa Ruiz/Natalia Boltinskaya and JaCara Gillis/Kristen Thoms won their matches 6-0 and 6-2, respectively.
- No. 2 Aliona Bolsova opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 rout of Helena Nyikos
- Kristen Thoms then fell 6-2, 6-3 as College of Charleston got on the board
- JaCara Gillis beat Anastasia Palaska 6-3, 6-4 to increase the FAU advantage
- Boltinskaya then took care of business in her 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Christi Woodson to win the match
- Marisa Ruiz and Jennifer Leib each led their matches when play ended
