BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (3-6) will return home to host Western Michigan (3-4) on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Owls have been away from the friendly combines of FAU Arena since the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament in November.

About the Game
- The Owls will be playing back-to-back games against Michigan-based teams. Following Sunday's game versus Western Michigan, the Owls will travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State
- Through nine games, Myka Johnson Matthews is leading the Owls, scoring 10.0 points per game. Abby Voss leads FAU in the rebounding department, bringing down 9.0 boards per game. Danneal Ford is averaging 3.75 assists per game as the team's leading assist earner
Last Time Out
- The Owls came out cold against Furman on the road Wednesday night. FAU scored only five first quarter points, three of which came from free throws. The Owls picked it up in the second half, scoring 45 second-half points, the most in a half by FAU all season
- Glenisha Harkless led the Owls with 13 points, a new career high for the freshman, in the contest along with five rebounds and three assists
- Juliette Gauthier joined Harkless in double figures with 11 points
- Ra'Kyra Gabriel led on the rebounding front with eight boards and Abby Voss pulled down six rebounds. Overall, FAU outrebounded Furman, 45-40. It was only the third time this season the Owls have recorded more rebounds than their opponent
- FAU had a season low in turnovers with only 16 in the contest
Series History
- Sunday's game will be the first matchup between FAU and Western Michigan in program history
- Western Michigan is one of five first time opponents for the Owls on the 2018-19 schedule
Scouting Western Michigan
- The Broncos are coming off their first road win of the season with a 54-44 victory at Detroit Mercy on Dec. 9
- Sophomore forward Leighah-Amori Wool leads Western Michigan, averaging 11.7 points per game
- Redshirt senior forward Jasmyn Walker leads on the boards, pulling down 6.1 rebounds per game

- FAU is holding opponents to 24.2 percent from beyond the arc which is second in Conference USA and 14th nationally
- The Owls have been able to keep five opponents below 40 percent from the field, including two teams who shot below 30
- On average, FAU is holding opponents to 38.9 percent from the field. That mark is the sixth lowest in C-USA
