BOCA RATON, Fla. – Head Coach LeAnn Freeland and the Florida Atlantic women's basketball team have announced their full schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Florida Atlantic will compete in 12 previously announced non-conference contests followed by an 18-game American Conference schedule. The Owls' 2026-27 schedule features 16 home contests on Abessinio Court at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, including a pair of home tournaments, the Owls' Thanksgiving and Holiday Classic, as well as marquee road matchups at Miami, Florida, and UCF.
All times and TV designations for the 2026-27 season will be announced at a later date.
Florida Atlantic will tip off the 2026-27 season on the road, visiting the Miami Hurricanes on Monday, Nov. 2, marking the 22nd all-time meeting between the Owls and the Canes.
After their season opener, the Owls return to Paradise to kick off their 2026-27 home slate, welcoming Kennesaw State on Saturday, Nov. 7, and South Alabama on Wednesday, Nov. 11 for a two-game homestand. The matchups will mark the ninth all-time meeting between FAU and Kennesaw State, and the 18th meeting between the Owls and the Jaguars.
The Owls will then head back on the road as they visit Fort Myers, Florida to take on FGCU on Saturday, Nov. 14, before closing out their two-game road stretch in Gainesville, Florida, with a battle at Florida on Thursday, Nov. 19. The matchups mark the fourth all-time meeting between Florida Atlantic and FGCU and the 11th all-time between the Owls and the Gators.
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Florida Atlantic will once again host its Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 27 and 28. The Owls will kick things off on Nov. 27 against Western Kentucky, before concluding play on Nov. 28 against Buffalo. The tournament contests will mark the 30th all-time meeting between the Owls and the Hilltoppers and the second all-time between FAU and Buffalo.
The Owls will head back on the road to open the month of December, traveling down to Miami for a matchup against rival FIU on Saturday, Dec. 5, marking the 59th all-time meeting between the Owls and the Panthers.
FAU will return to the Elly on Tuesday, Dec. 8, as the Owls welcome Stony Brook for their Education Day game, the first meeting between the Owls and the Seawolves.
Florida Atlantic will conclude its non-conference road slate on Tuesday, Dec. 15, as the Owls head to Orlando, Florida, for a matchup against the UCF Knights, the 32nd meeting between the two teams.
The Owls will wrap up non-conference play at home, hosting their Holiday Classic on Dec. 19-20. FAU will open the weekend on Saturday, Dec. 19 against North Florida, before facing off against Kent State in its non-conference finale on Sunday, Dec. 20. The tournament matchups will mark the 12th meeting between the Owls and the Ospreys and the third between FAU and Kent State.

2026 will conclude with the Owls hosting UTSA for their American opener on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
The Owls open 2027 on the road, heading to the Lone Star State for a pair of matchups at North Texas on Sunday, Jan. 3 and Rice on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Florida Atlantic returns to Paradise for a Saturday, Jan. 9 matchup against Tulsa. The Owls then head back out on a two-game road trip, visiting Memphis on Wednesday, Jan. 13 and Tulane on Saturday, Jan. 16. The Owls return to Boca Raton to host East Carolina on Thursday, Jan. 21, before heading to Tampa for an in-state battle at South Florida on Sunday, Jan. 24. The Owls will bring January to a close in Paradise, welcoming Wichita State on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Florida Atlantic will remain home to open the month of February, hosting Tulane for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Owls will then head to North Carolina for a pair of road matchups at Charlotte on Saturday, Feb. 6, and East Carolina on Tuesday, Feb. 9. Following the trip to the Tar Heel State, FAU will return to Paradise to welcome UAB on Saturday, Feb. 13. The Owls then travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for midweek clash at Temple on Wednesday, Feb. 17. FAU will close out February with a two-game homestand, beginning with a Sunshine State battle against South Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 24, before closing out the week against Memphis on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Florida Atlantic will open March with its American regular season road finale, taking on UTSA on Wednesday, March 3. The Owls will then close out the regular season in Boca Raton, hosting Temple for their regular season finale on Saturday, March 6.
The 2027 American Women's Basketball Championship will be held on March 9-13 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The 2026-27 NCAA season will conclude with the 2027 Women's Final Four on April 1-4 in Columbus, Ohio.
