JONESBORO, Ark. - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team fought gamely, but ultimately lost to Arkansas State 75-71 in double overtime on Friday night. FAU fell to 7-3 with the loss.
The Start
The two teams went back and forth for much of the first half.

The Turning Point
ASU led 54-46 with six and a half minutes remaining when FAU went on a 10-2 run to level the score at 56 at the 1:16 mark in the second half. The Red Wolves made a pair of free throws followed by a
Michael Forrest layup that once again tied the score, this time at 58 all with 18 seconds left. The Owls made a defensive stand to force overtime.
The Finish
FAU scored the first five points of overtime, with the Red Wolves scoring the last five, sending the game to a second extra session. With the score tied at 66 in the second overtime, Forrest found
Simeon Lepichev for a layup to put the Owls up 68-66. ASU tallied the next seven points, before Forrest made a three to trim the deficit to 73-71. However, a pair of free throws for ASU and a missed three-pointer accounted for the final score.
