2019 FAU Softball Schedule
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University athletic department has released the 2019 FAU softball schedule, as announced on Thursday. This season, the Owls will take on nine teams who qualified for the NCAA Tournament, which includes four Super-Regional teams and the reigning 2018 National Champions.

The Owls' season will commence at FAU's annual "First Pitch" Classic held from Friday, Feb. 8 to Sunday, Feb 10. FAU will face Georgia, St. John's, Virginia, Indiana and Bethune-Cookman.

On the following weekend, FAU will be playing in the inaugural St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational with games airing across the ESPN networks. FAU is one of 16 teams invited to the tournament, and will face Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, James Madison and Florida State.

The Owls will then take a short trip over to Clermont, Florida to face the Stetson Hatters in a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 22 and finish the weekend at home for the FAU Strike Out Cancer Tournament held at FAU Softball Stadium. Florida Gulf Coast and UConn will be down South for the tournament with the Owls facing the Huskies in two games during the weekend.

To kick off the month of March, FAU will take a trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the Carolina Classic. FAU will toe the rubber against George Washington, Maryland, UNC Greensboro, Fairfield and the hosting North Carolina Tar Heels.

Tournament play will wrap up with the Parent's Tournament at FAU and FIU stadiums from Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10. With 11 total teams in the tournament, the Owls will square off against East Carolina, Stony Brook, Yale, Illinois State and Purdue. FAU will then play Norte Dame the following Tuesday before Conference USA play gets rolling.

The Owls kick off C-USA play in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as they will face Southern Miss on the weekend of March 16. FAU will receive a visit from UAB the following weekend for the Owls' first home conference matchup of the season.

On Wednesday, April 3, the Owls will head to the other side of the state to face in-state foes Florida Gulf Coast, and regular season conference play will wrap up at Marshall on Sunday, May 5. UAB will be hosting the Conference USA Championships this season from Wednesday, May 8 to Saturday, May 11. The Owls are hoping to make a run for its 11th conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in school history behind 13 returners and nine fresh faces.
