Slow First Half Dooms Women's Basketball at Furman
12/12/2018 9:40:00 PM | Women's Basketball
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (3-6) were led by double-digit scorers Glenisha Harkless and Juliette Gauthier on Wednesday night in a 73-57 loss at Furman (6-4).
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
COACH JABIR'S TAKE
"I was really proud of our second half. We outscored them. We did some really good things defensively. It's hard to win games on the road when you start out 1-of-17 from the field. We have to be consistent. I'm asking a lot of freshmen to do a lot of really hard things that they're not used to doing, but we'll get there. We have to keep working hard and we'll be ok."

HOW IT WAS DECIDED

- The Owls saw a similar fate in the second quarter, where Furman held them to seven points
- The Paladins held an 8-4 scoring advantage to open the second half and posted their largest lead of the night at the 7:22 mark in the third quarter, ahead by 24 points. Following, Harkless connected on the first 3-pointer of the night for FAU to start chipping into the Furman lead. At the 4:09 mark, Gauthier hit a three and then made a layup in transition while being fouled on the very next possession. That six-point swing by Gauthier led the Owls to an 11-0 run to cut the lead to 12. Furman responded by outscoring FAU 9-2 to end the quarter
- FAU ended the game on a 7-0 run and outscored the Paladins 21-18 in the final quarter
