BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University football running back Devin Singletary has been named as a Second Team All-American by Sporting News, as announced on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Singletary was bestowed Conference USA First Team honors after leading the league in rushing yards (1,348), rushing yards per game (112.3), scoring per game (11.0) and rushing and total touchdowns (22). In those same categories nationally, he is listed No. 10, No. 11, No. 3, No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
In his three seasons wearing an Owl uniform, the Deerfield Beach, Florida native has tallied 66 rushing touchdowns, which ranks him No. 6 on the all-time FBS list (and the most ever among those having only played three years). His career averages are 5.0 yards per carry and 113.1 yards per game, and he has totaled 4,299 yards on the ground, the sixth-most in C-USA history.
The announcement marked the second consecutive season that the junior running back has found his name listed among the nation's best. In 2017, he became the first FAU football player to ever earn Associated Press All-All-American honors following a season in which he tallied 32 rushing touchdowns and 33 touchdowns overall.
This accolade comes on the heels of Singletary being chosen last week as Pro Football Focus C-USA Player of the Year. PFF also recognized Singletary, Kerrith Whyte, Jr. and Harrison Bryant as First Team All-C-USA members, while Bryant was graded by the publication as a Second Team All-American.
