BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Tallahassee on Friday to race in the NCAA South Regionals at Apalachee Regional Park. Both races will be broadcast on
NCAA.com. The women's 6K race is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. while the men's 10K will begin at 9:30. Â Â

"We are thrilled to be able to race at the NCAA Regional Championships," said head coach
Alex Smolka. "It's an opportunity for us to measure ourselves against some nationally-ranked teams and against the best in our region. Our goals as a program is to be regionally- and nationally-ranked. The process to achieve that goal starts by competing at the NCAA Regional."

The women competing in the race for the Owls will be
Sophia Clark,
Bethany Hardcastle,
Mikaela Jonsson, Prisca König,
Erica Lersch,
Lauren Macon and
Kelsey Meltzer. On the men's side,
Sean Barone,
Jericho Cooley,
John Marting,
Cristian Moreno,
Ross Rabalais, Landon Shiver and
Jonathan Werble will be competing. Teams participating in the regional come from Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

In the last outing, the Owls competed in the Conference USA Championship held at the South County Regional Park in Boca Raton. The men raced to a 10th place finish while the women had a ninth place showing.
