Women's Basketball Starts Three-Game Homestand with Richmond

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (0-3) will return home for a three-game homestand starting with the University of Richmond (1-3) on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls hit the road last Wednesday to take on Little Rock
- After falling behind in the first half, FAU doubled its score in the third quarter but that wasn't enough to avoid the loss against the Trojans
- Amber Gaston led the Owls with six points in the game. Abby Voss, Myka Johnson Matthews and Ra'Kyra Gabriel also added five points
- The Owls had a season-high nine steals in the contest and extended the program's 255-game streak with a 3-pointer
- It will be only the third matchup between FAU and Richmond in series history on Sunday
- The Spiders have won both previous tilts. Both games came in holiday tournaments with the first coming in the Miami Holiday Classic in 1995 and the second at the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament in 2016
- Richmond claimed a 91-88 victory in overtime in 1995 and a 77-67 win in 2016
- The Spiders opened the season with a 73-53 loss against Georgetown, followed by losses against Fairfield and Wake Forest. Richmond recorded its first win on Wednesday, Nov. 14 against UMES, 57-55
- Junior Jaide Hinds-Clarke had a double-double in the Spiders' win with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Daijia Ruffin also had 17 points in the contest, including the two game-winning free throws with 16 seconds left
- Alex Parson leads the team as she averages 13.0 points per game. Hinds-Clarke leads on the rebounding front, averaging 7.0 boards per game
