Men's Soccer Set for Tuesday Tilt at Georgia Southern

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team will play away from the friendly confines of FAU Soccer Stadium for two matches this week. First, the Owls will travel to Statesboro, Georgia to take on Georgia Southern on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls (2-5-0, 1-1-0 C-USA) came short of making a comeback against Stetson on Saturday. The Hatters took a 2-0 lead early, but FAU cut it to a one-goal lead just before halftime. Despite aggressive play in the second half, the Owls weren't able to capitalize.
CATCHING UP WITH THE OWLS
FAU is in a three-way tie for fifth place in the C-USA standings with a 1-1-0 record so far in league play. Old Dominion, FIU and Kentucky lead the pack with nine league points. (Wins = 3 points, ties = 1 point, losses = 0 points).
Redshirt-junior goalkeeper Hagay Jalon has played every match in-goal for the Owls this season. His 5.29 saves per game average is the seventh most nationally and his 37 total saves on the season is 39th in the country. Both of those marks lead C-USA. The Haifa, Israel native has registered two clean sheets this season which is the fifth most in the league. He has the fifth best save percentage in the conference (0.712) and he recorded the second most saves in a single-game by a C-USA keeper this season with eight stops against South Carolina.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Georgia Southern (3-4-1) has lost two straight matches coming into Tuesday's tilt.
The Eagles are led offensively by Javier Carbonell. Carbonell has scored 10 goals on the season, the third most in the country. His 22 points (10 goals, 2 assists) is tied for the fifth most in the nation.
