BOCA RATON, Fla. - Kalib Woods, a member of Florida Atlantic University's football team member from 2013-17, has been invited to the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl to be played in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Woods, a wide receiver, played in 38 games as an Owl and tallied 135 receptions for a total of 2,106 yards and 10 scores. The Jacksonville native saw action in eight 2017 games including the C-USA Championship which he was named the contest's MVP. He averaged 25.8 yards per catch as a senior and had a quartet of touchdowns. Woods also had four receptions for 79 yards in the Owls 50-3 victory over Akron in the 2017 CheriBundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl. The win extended the Owls' win streak to 10 and gave FAU a program-best 11-3 record.
His invite extends the FAU all-time list of All-Star invitees to 26 and it is the fifth consecutive year an Owl has represented the University. He is the second to participate in the NFLPA event; Lucky Whitehead, currently with the New York Jets, was the first.
