BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University shortstop Emily Lochten has been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third Team All-American, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. She is just the third player in FAU history to earn the honor, joining two-time All-American Nikki Myers and current Owls' pitcher Kylee Hanson, who earned Second Team honors last season.
Lochten is a two-time Conference USA First Team selection. On the season, the Lake Worth, Florida, native led the Owls in numerous offensive categories including batting average (.408) and RBI (41) and set single-season program records for runs scored (58), slugging percentage (.834) and on-base percentage (.539), while tying the FAU mark for total bases (131).
"Emily had a great season for us and is deserving of the honor," said FAU Head Softball Coach Joan Joyce. "We expect her to have an even better year next year."
