Jimenez Named to Conference USA All-Academic Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. -Florida Atlantic University junior Ignacio Jimenez has earned a spot on the InTouch Credit Union Conference USA All-Academic Tennis Team with a 3.86 grade point average. <p>Jimenez boasts a 12-6 singles record on the courts while studying Ocean Engineering in the classroom. The Burgos, Spain native is 6-2 in his last eight matches and has helped the Owls to a 17-6 record to earn the No. 3 seed in the upcoming C-USA Tournament. Jimenez crafted an eight-match undefeated streak in March and did not lose a match to a league opponent. His marquee wins came over FGCU on Feb. 4 and at Miami on Feb. 12.
<p>The FAU men's tennis team will fight for a Conference USA Tournament Championship in Murfreesboro, Tenn. April 21-23.
