BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team travels to Fort Myers to play Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday before returning home to host Webber International on Sunday.
Last Week: FAU (4-3) had a pair of outstanding offensive performances in winning its two games last week. The Owls defeated Ave Maria 91-54 on Tuesday afternoon, then beat Bethune-Cookman 93-75 on Saturday. It was the first time FAU scored at least 90 points in consecutive games since the 2003-04 season. Senior guard Justin Massey averaged 27.5 points in the two wins. His 31 points on Saturday were the most by an FAU player in nearly four years.
History: The Owls trail FGCU (6-3) in the all-time series, with the Eagles leading 2-1. FGCU won last season's meeting 75-62 in Boca Raton. FAU has played Webber International (3-4) four times, having won three of them. The Owls beat the Warriors 76-56 last season, Massey scored a game-high 15 points in the contest.
