BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team will honor seven departing players - Asta Arnadottir, Madison Caldwell, Lucy Carter, Kelly Harris, Sammy Lujan, Alex Mastrobuono and Maddie Pung - before their final regular season home match, as the Owls host UTEP Sunday afternoon at FAU Soccer Stadium.
Owls' Week in Review
The Owls (8-7-2, 3-4-1 Conference USA) split decisions last weekend on the road, recovering from a 1-0 loss Friday to WKU to defeat Marshall Sunday, 3-0. Ebba Blomqvist and Mary O'Hara each tallied a goal in the first 1:50 of the latter match, and the result drew FAU even with the Thundering Herd with 10 points (and gives the Owls the head-to-head tiebreaker) for eighth place on the league standings board.
Owls' Week in Preview
FAU's only matchup this week sees the squad host UTEP (6-10-0, 2-5-0 C-USA) at 12:30 p.m. The Miners have a home matchup ahead of this still to play, against Marshall Thursday night. To this point, Vic Bohdan (five), Anna Jimmerson (five) and Kennadie Chaudhary (four) have 14 of the team's 23 goals, and Bohdan leads the way with four assists.
Opponent History
The Owls earned their first victory in the short series against UTEP last year in El Paso, 2-0, after the Miners had taken the first three by a margin of 2-1 each time.
After This
The regular season finale comes in Miami at FIU on Friday, Oct. 27, a 7 p.m. kickoff. Following that, FAU Soccer Stadium is the host site for the 2017 Conference USA Championship, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1.
