COLUMBUS, Ohio â€" Three home runs doomed the No. 16 Florida Atlantic University baseball team in its final non-conference matchup of the season as the Owls lost 10-2 at Ohio State Wednesday.

Christian Dicks led FAU at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI while four Owls hit doubles, including Austin Langham who was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Mark Nowatnick suffered his first loss of the year, allowing four runs in the third inning and striking out a pair.

The Buckeyes (32-16-1) tallied ten runs on ten hits including the three homers and two doubles.

OSU rallied for seven third-inning runs with four coming on a grand slam before an out was recorded. After a pitching change, a double and a home run led to three more runs crossing the plate.

FAU struck back in the top of the fourth as Esteban Puerta led off with a walk and Langham doubled to put two in scoring position. Dicks then singled to center to drive in a pair with no outs, but FAU's rally was halted short.

A hit batter to lead off the sixth led to another OSU run before a two-run homer in the seventh ended the scoring at 10-2.

The Owls will travel to Houston to take on Rice in a three-game series with Conference USA championship impacts on the line. The first game is slated for 8 p.m. ET on Friday, May 13 and will be televised on Fox Sports 2.
