The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team is in ninth place following two rounds of play at the FAU Slomin Autism Championship. The team has a total of 576, and Ole Miss is in first place with 558.
After two rounds, senior Derron Peyton leads the Owls with a total score of 142. Peyton carded one birdie on the day, tying for 22nd overall after shooting a two-over 73. Caleb Sibley is tied for 26th after 36-holes. Sibley had had his best round of the season in round one, but struggled today to close out the back nine after carding five birdies on the the front. The junior shot a six-over 77 on the day for a total of 144.
The senior Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla stayed in the middle of the pack for FAU, finishing the first round with a score of 71 and second round score of 75. Rounding out the group for FAU was Jackson Shoenfelt and Michael Perez. Shoenfelt carded a two-over 73 on the day, moving up eight spots tying for 56th overall. Perez carded two birdies on the day for a two-over 73 after two rounds finishing tied for 62nd.
Competing individually, Brian Dolehide moved up 15 spots finishing round two tied for 66th after shooting a one-over 72 for a two round total of 150.
Yuki Fujii improved three strokes in round two finishing with a 77, which ties him for 87th place with teammate Carson Klawonn. Klawonn moved up nine spots today after carding three birdies on the day for a two round total of 157.
The third and final round of the FAU Slomin Autism Championship will start at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 27 with FAU players beginning to tee off at 8:00 a.m. on hole number one. Live results can be found here.
