Fans are to enter the stadium through Gate 7, between the towers on the west side, where they will receive free posters and other giveaways, beginning at 1:45 p.m. Complimentary hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available to the first 300 fans. The Fan Shop on the Hyundai Deck will also be open during the event. The Owls, who will have surpassed the two-week mark of preseason camp, will be on hand as well as members of FAU's coaching staffs, including Head Football Coach Charlie Partridge, who will provide a few comments at 3:00 p.m. The 2015 FAU Dance Team will also perform.
FAU football game day host Andrea Ocampo will emcee the event, which also includes the opportunity to take photos with players and receive autographs. As a reminder, NCAA Bylaw 12.5.2.1 prohibits student-athletes from accepting any benefit or payment, for the use of his or her name or picture to advertise, recommend or promote the sale or use of commercial product, service, or item. Attendees may not pay, or provide a benefit to, student-athletes in exchange for any student-athlete autographs.
The RED HOT MEET AND GREET will coincide with GET WOW'd, an opportunity for FAU students to meet and greet with the more than 33 campus student clubs and organizations, which will be held on the concourse of FAU Stadium.
FAU football will open the 2015 season on Saturday, September 4 at the University of Tulsa, with the game broadcast on the CBS Sports Network. The Owls will open the home season on Friday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. versus the University of Miami Hurricanes at FAU Stadium, which will air nationally on FOX Sports 1. Just over 2,000 tickets remain for that game and season tickets are still available.
