Softball Makes Five Game Road Trip to Kentucky

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team will take a key five game road trip to the state of Kentucky.
The Owls (25-10-1, 6-3 C-USA) lost three of its four games last week, losing to UCF 2-0 on Thursday before dropping two of three games to FIU over the weekend. Kylee Hanson struck out a career high 15 batters in the Owls' 5-1 win.
FAU will head to Bowling Green to face Western Kentucky for a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 3. The Hilltoppers (18-6, 5-1) are receiving votes in both the NFCA and USA Softball polls. The Owls faced WKU when both schools were members of the Sun Belt Conference. The two schools last met in during the 2013 season when WKU swept the Owls in Bowling Green. Friday's first game will begin at 5 p.m. eastern.
After the series against the Hilltoppers, the Owls will travel to Lexington to face Kentucky in a doubleheader. The Wildcats (23-9, 3-6 SEC) are currently ranked 13th in the NFCA pool and tied for 14th in the USA Softball poll with fellow SEC member Tennessee. FAU and UK met in Boca Raton last season, with UK winning 7-1 as part of the FAU Invitational. Monday's doubleheader will start at 3 p.m.
