Ali Gorrell Named Academic All-Conference

IRVING, Texas - Florida Atlantic University women's basketball player Ali Gorrell was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, as voted on by sports information directors from each member school.
The junior boasts a GPA of 3.685 while majoring in both multimedia studies and economics and leads the Owls in rebounding and steals. She averages 13.5 points per game and has five double-doubles on the season. Gorrell was also named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District First Team for her scholastic efforts.
Gorrell joins representatives from five other schools including Marita Davydova (FIU), Christal Porter (Rice), Miranda Burroughs (UAB), Cameasha Turner (UTEP) and Micah Jones (WKU).
The Owls will wrap up the regular season with a road game on Saturday, March 7 at Middle Tennessee before returning to Birmingham for the Conference USA Championship Tournament on Wednesday, March 11.
