Florida Atlantic Men's Tennis Sweeps Two Home Matches

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Florida Atlantic men's tennis played two home matches on Tuesday winning both in convincing fashion. The Owls faced Butler in the morning winning 7-0, before beating Jackson State in the afternoon 6-1.
Against Butler FAU won the doubles point with wins at the one and three positions. The FAU duo of Will Neuner and Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff defeated Brandon Woods and Pulok Bhattacharya 6-3. The FAU duo of sophomore Stefan Burnett and Sean Bacha defeated Austin Woldmoe and Alex Woldmoe 6-2 to secure the doubles point. FAU then went on to win at every position in singles. Morin-Kougoucheff defeated Austin Woldmoe 7-6, 2-6, 10-6 improving his overall record to 8-4 on the season, with seven consecutive wins. Nuner improved to 9-5 on the season with the two wins Tuesday first defeating Brandon woods 6-1, 6-4 of Butler and then defeating Carlos Martinez 6-1, 6-3 of JSU.
It was much of the same against Jackson State with FAU winning the doubles with victories in the number one and three positions. FAU sophomore Gerald (Trey) Nickerson teamed with freshman Zandrix Acob to defeat Hernan Geria and Ryan Swainer 6-1. FAU's Will Neuner teamed with Stefan Burnett to defeat Carlos Martinez and Federico Buscarino. FAU freshman Alexander Gitin got his second win on the day defeating Federico Mendletta 6-4, 6-4.
