BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University senior third baseman Ricky Santiago was 3-for-5 with five RBI and a run scored in the Owls 7-0 victory over Ohio State, Saturday afternoon. The Owls, who are receiving votes in the national poll, move to 5-1 on the year while OSU fell to 4-1.

"The most complete game," said John McCormack FAU's head baseball coach when asked if it was the team's best played 2015 game. "We played very well defensively. We ran the bases extremely well. We got the hits when it counted and of course the pitching was really good. It was very much a complete win."

FAU's Drew Jackson drew his second start of the year and picked up his first victory after a seven inning shutout performance. Jackson scattered five hits, gave up just one walk and struck out four. He gave way in the top of the eighth to Devon Carr. Carr faced seven batters in his two innings of work for the combined shutout. Carr gave up one hit and struck out one.

"I was able to throw all three pitches for strikes. This team (OSU) was a hard team to pitch against," said Drew Jackson. "I had the defense behind me today. That was the key to our win."

The Owls left a runner on third in the bottom of the second. In the following frame, Stephen Kerr, who scored three of FAU's seven runs, scored the first run of the game on a two-out single by Santiago.

FAU was quiet in the fifth and got things going in the sixth which began with a Kerr single. Brendon Sanger drew a walk setting up Santiago for a two-out double to right center plating both Kerr and Sanger. Roman Collins followed with a single scoring Santiago and the third run of the inning.

The Owls would add a run in the seventh and two in the eighth via a two-out single to right to pick up his fourth and fifth RBI. FAU tallied nine hits and seven walks in the game. In 33 plate appearances, the OSU pitchers did not record a strikeout.
